Hi Folks

It's been a long time since I was last here, so I had to re-register

I was never a fanatical poster in those days, but you never know - I think the main problem is that being English I don't understand most of what's posted I'll invest in an interpretation gizmo

One of the main reasons I popped back in again is because I want to do more riding in Europe, and I recall there is a pretty BIG ride out sometime towards the end of summer where the number of Blackbirds in attendance (160+ ???) puts my Pie and Peas efforts to shame (a paltry 19).

No doubt there will be one or two UK members who know me (if they are still around) e.g. Rolfy and Jan, Jon and Anya, Mark and Lorna???

So hopefully (but work depending), me and Rosie will get the time to pop across the water to do what we enjoy - taking the Bird for a blast

I'm in the process of changing domain hosting so I don't have anywhere to park my photo's at the moment - but I'll sort some out as soon as I get some access to my webspace again Alternatively I could email you a couple of pics for you to post on my behalf if you want!

For now though - I own a 2001 CBR1100XX in Superior Sexy Silver which I bought new. It's got a Red Fox silver painted hugger, alloy frame plugs and bar ends, 42000 miles, running on BT020s but might change to the BT021s soon, DID X ring chain, Renthal sprockets, Melboy Custom seat with gel pad inserts, K&N air and Oil filters, and I use Blackbird specific Honda (Givi) panniers with a Givi top box when I'm travelling along with Autocom and Garmin Quest satnav. I've probably missed something off, but can't think of anything else at present.

As you'll see from the photo's when I eventually post them, I'm a bit on the short side at 5'4", so I tried a lowering link last summer for a couple of weeks. I couldn't believe how much difference it made to the handling, especially on the bends - it was awesome. And the feeling of being able to touch the floor was orgasmic (well, maybe not quite that good). But my wife said it made the Bird sit too low for her when she was on the back so I took it off again - and yes, the lowering link is for sale if anyone is interested

As for the bash - like I say, it really depends on work commitments at the time. As I do contract work, I don't know from one week to the next whether or not I'll be working so it's difficult to plan ahead too much
